Jörg Meyer-Stamer

I was born 1958 and grew up in a small place in northern Germany. I was trained as a political scientist at the University of Hamburg. From 1988 to 1998 I was a fellow at the German Development Institute. After that, I spent part of my time as a fellow at the Institute for Development and Peace (INEF), University of Duisburg, in charge of the Meso-NRW Project.

Currently, I spend most of my time as a consultant, so far free-lancing, as of early 2003 in a new partnership called Mesopartner. I have been working for organizations such as GTZ, CDG/InWEnt, Friedrich Ebert Foundation, International Labour Organisation, Asian Development Bank, UNCTAD, and others. Currently, I am accompanying four projects on a regular basis:

  • The LOCATI (Local Competitive Advantage Training Initiative) in Mpumalanga, South Africa, on behalf of InWEnt,
  • GTZ's BDS & LED activities in South Africa,
  • The PACA part of the SSIPP project in Thailand, sponsored by GTZ,
  • The GTZ's Enterprise Service System Promotion Project in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Apart from that, I am working on the PACA methodology, and I am training LED practitioners in this methodology.

My Curriculum Vitae is available in English (update 07/02)and in a brief Portuguese version.
